Mudeford quay

Mudeford in Christchurch has a working quay with local fishing boats, a stall selling local caught fish and seafood, and a typical Dorset pub! Fishing trips and pleasure trips to Bournemouth, Christchurch and the Isle of Wight are available from the quay.

Christchurch bay

Christchurch bay forms the estuary of the rivers Avon and Stour and the large natural harbour is a haven for sea birds and river birds alike. This is the view from Mudeford harbour.

Hengistbury head

This unusual peninsula is the site of an iron age settlement. Traffic free, it is a tranquil haven for birds and other wildlife and offers many nature trails and a spectacular coastline. It is easily accessible by a short ferry trip from Mudeford quay.
